Should Have Seen This One Coming!

This is where we are now. That's right the Mr. T. is sporting a stylish green cast! (Note: it has NOT slowed him down one little bit! See that glint in his eyes, you just know he's devising a plan to his next daredevil adventure. Plus, that's a pretty tasty banana he's eating!) You are probably asking yourself; "how the heck did the little guy do that?" I will answer this question and more as we go backwards through this "grand" adventure.

Here's Mr.T. getting his snazzy green cast put on by our favorite doctor. Said favorite doctor at first suggested to put a bright pink cast on, so his sisters could enjoy it. Would that make getting a little thunk from the cast a little less painless, I don't think so! They didn't have any camo colored, so this was the best we could do. Please note the look on Mr.T.'s face. Sad isn't. =(. The good news is that on the x-ray it showed the break (which was straight across) was starting to heal! This will hopefully mean only two weeks in a cast instead of four. He had to were a splint for a week due to swelling before we could put him in a cast. (Note: having the cast put on took a huge stress off of me! Now all sides of the arm are protected! This is very good when you have such a "busy" little boy. No more worrying that the break is going to get bumped!)

Here's Mr.T. just hours after our initial doctor's visit to discover the broken bone. Yes, that's right, he's on the climbing cube in his bedroom. Even pain and a large splint were going to slow him down! He lost too much playtime while we were at the doctors getting his arm and elbow look at. I learned quickly, if I could not see him, go find him! I don't know how he did it or did it so quick, but he would get his arm out of that splint.

The first doctors visit! Yup, he's busy playing with a car. He's also now sporting a large and made of metal splint. (Are you thinking what I was thinking? That this could be dangerous!) When the doctor did his exam, he started at Mr.T.'s shoulder and worked his way down. I knew his shoulder was fine. I had relocated his elbow, so I knew that should show some fluid in it from that and it did. I knew his wrist was hurting, but hoping it was not broke, but maybe the bone was bruised. This is what I was hoping, but knowing deep down that it was broke. I told all of this to the doctor (who actually listens, gotta love him!). I showed the doctor exactly where I thought the problem was in the wrist and when the doctor touched it, Mr.T. just growled out a grunt. Off to x-ray we went and 15 minutes later we had our answer. One small black line going across the bone, right where I said to look!

Are you ready to hear how this happened now? Okay. A crib escape gone bad at nap time. I had just put Mr.T. down to take a nap and was getting Brady's lunch together, when we heard the infamous thunk! Mr.T. let out a huge wail! Everyone starts running to the bedroom at the same time (that would be two adults and two wonderfully caring big sisters). Brady got there first, followed by the two sisters and me trying to get past all of them! I could tell right away that he had dislocated his elbow (we've been through that before and I have been trained on how to put it back) and fixed that, but every time Mr.T. would use his left hand he would let out a little grunt. By this time Brady has to leave or be late for work, so I pushed him out the door and told him I would take care of it. So I start getting the kids ready to head to the doctors office and off we went. You know the rest. Man, these boys should come with some kind of warning label!
